Larry Walter, P.E., President, is one of HWA's founding principals. He not only has a wealth of engineering knowledge spanning more than 35 years, but his involvement in the community, which is second to none, gives him a unique perspective on local growth issues.
Previously serving as Deputy Director of Public Works and Engineering for the City of Kissimmee, Larry is extremely familiar with the existing infrastructure in the City. He has been the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce's Growth Management Task Force for over ten (10) years. He is Chairman of the Transportation Task Force, a member of the Wetlands Ordinance Committee, the City of Kissimmee and City of St. Cloud Comprehensive Plan and LDR Committees, the Leaders' Forum Interlocal Government Chairman's Committee, and the South Florida Water Management District's Peer Committee. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kissimmee Utility Authority, has chaired the City of Kissimmee Affordable Housing Committee and served on both Osceola County's Parks & Recreations and Lake Management Committees. This extensive involvement in the community has placed HWA at the Heart of resolving our community's engineering-related issues.
Larry's civic involvement also includes serving on the Executive Board of Directors for the Osceola County Y.M.C.A., the Board of Directors of Heavenly Hoofs, the Board of Directors of CenterState Bank and the National Board of Directors for the Good Samaritan Society. He is also a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America and currently serves as Chairman of the Osceola District, Central Florida Council.
